SHEGERBITE PRIVACY POLICY

(hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”)

This Privacy Policy explains how SHEGERBITE collects, uses, stores, and protects Personal Data in connection with the services provided through the SHEGERBITE mobile application and website.

I. INTRODUCTION

The administrator of personal data collected in accordance with this Policy is:

SHEGERBITE processes personal data in accordance with:

• applicable laws and regulations of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia,

• principles of lawful, fair, and transparent data processing,

• and the provisions set out in this Privacy Policy.

Personal data is collected only to the extent necessary to provide and improve our services through the Application and Website.

II. DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of this Policy, the following definitions apply:

1. Application – the mobile application named SHEGERBITE.

2. Personal Data – any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. A person may be identified directly or indirectly through information such as name, identification details, location data, online identifiers, or other elements relating to their identity.

3. Account – a user profile created within the Application that enables the User to access and use the services provided by SHEGERBITE.

4. Newsletter – electronic communication sent periodically to Users who have agreed to receive updates, promotions, or information from SHEGERBITE.

5. Partner / Partners – restaurants, cafés, hospitality venues, and entertainment establishments whose offers are presented within the Application.

6. Processing of Personal Data – any operation performed on personal data, including collection, recording, organization, storage, use, sharing, restriction, deletion, or destruction.

7. Terms and Conditions – the Terms governing the provision of electronic services through the Application and Website.

8. Website – the official website operated by SHEGERBITE.

9. User / Customer – any individual using the services available within the Application or Website.

III. SCOPE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION

The purpose, scope, and recipients of Personal Data processed by us depend on the actions taken by the User within the Application, Website, or other communication channels.

Providing Personal Data is necessary for the use of certain services, including:

• creating a User Account,

• making reservations through the Application,

• using offers provided by our Partners.

Some information may also be required for tax, accounting, or payment processing purposes as required by applicable Ethiopian laws.

In other cases, providing Personal Data is voluntary but may be necessary to fully access our services.

IV. PURPOSE OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

We collect and process Personal Data for the following purposes:

a) Provision of services

Personal Data is processed to enable the use of the Application and Website, including:

• creating and managing a User Account,

• making reservations at Partner venues,

• sending confirmations and notifications related to reservations,

• enabling communication between Users and Partners.

• telephone number,

• username,

• payment-related information.

The legal basis for this processing is the necessity to perform services requested by the User.

Personal data connected with the Account will be processed for the duration of the User’s use of the Account and afterwards only for the period necessary to handle complaints or claims.

b) Financial settlements

Personal Data may be processed for purposes related to financial transactions, including:

• verification of payments,

• issuing invoices,

• maintaining accounting records.

Transaction information may include:

• details of the service ordered,

• date and time of reservation,

• payment method used.

Data processed for accounting purposes will be stored for the period required by applicable financial and tax regulations in Ethiopia.

c) Protection of legal claims

We may process certain Personal Data to establish, pursue, or defend legal claims.

This may include:

• reservation information,

• service usage history.

We may process Personal Data for marketing purposes, including:

Marketing communications are only sent where the User has provided consent or where permitted by applicable law.

We analyze how Users interact with our Application and Website in order to:

V. COOKIES POLICY

VIII. TRANSFER OF DATA TO OTHER COUNTRIES

Where necessary, Personal Data may be processed by service providers located outside Ethiopia.

In such cases, SHEGERBITE ensures that appropriate security measures are implemented to protect Personal Data and maintain an adequate level of protection.

IX. DATA RETENTION PERIOD

Personal Data will be stored only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected.

In general:

• data related to Accounts is stored while the Account remains active,

• accounting data is stored according to applicable financial regulations,

• data related to legal claims may be stored for the duration of the applicable limitation period.

After the retention period expires, Personal Data will be securely deleted or anonymized.

X. USER RIGHTS

Users have the right to:

• access their Personal Data,

• request correction of inaccurate data,

• request deletion of data where legally permissible,

• object to certain types of processing,

• withdraw previously granted consent.

XII. FINAL PROVISIONS

3. Continued use of the services after publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

4. In matters not regulated by this Policy, the applicable laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia shall apply.

5. Any disputes related to the application of this Policy shall be resolved by the competent courts of Ethiopia.

6. The Application or Website may contain links to third-party websites. This Policy applies only to services provided by SHEGERBITE.
